This musket is of standard configuration for this pattern. Barrel with proof at breech. Lock tail marked "GRICE / 1761" and engraved with crown over "GR" in center, marked below pan with crown and broad arrow ordnance mark, denoting government ownership. Standard brass pattern 1756 furniture. Walnut stock of classic British form, relief carved apron around barrel tang. CONDITION: Barrel retains a heavy brown patina with some heavy pitting. Lock is a very good and very well-aged professional reconversion. Brass retains a very dark patina. Stock shows heavy old finishes on buttstock, some losses behind pan from percussion corrosion and front 28" of forend professionally restored and nearly perfectly blended. A very good representative example of this important Revolutionary War longarm that displays very well.
