Three-stage iron barrel with 3 indistinct proofs on left side of breech, bayonet lug on bottom, towards muzzle. Early lock with scroll engraving. Curled trigger. Brass trigger guard and flat sideplate. This fusil was made without a buttplate. Cherry stock of New England Roman-nose form, made in two pieces for easy takedown and for travel. CONDITION: Dark and untouched throughout. Lock is original flint and functions well. All brass is very dark. Stock dry and original. A very nice New England gun from the Revolutionary War period or slightly before.
