These circa 1735-1760 pistols feature tapered barrels with chiseled panels on tops. Flat lock plates with beveled edges and military motifs at tails, center engraved "JEAN / BARALIE". Classic French mounts of brass, grotesque mask pommel caps, pierced scroll sideplates, and pierced wrist escutcheon. Partially figured walnut stocks with relief carved designs. CONDITION: Pistols were shortened during their period of use. Barrels worn, cleaned, and retain a light grey patina with light pitting. Locks retain a grey patina, are in their original flintlock configuration and function properly. One cock a modern replacement. Stocks show wear, age cracks, and some restoration. An attractive pair of French pistols.
