Probably circa 1790-1810, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Unmarked octagon barrel with brass front sight and notched rear sight. Replaced modern Germanic lock. Brass furniture including triggerguard with early large Lehigh type trifid finial. Figured tiger maple stock of beautiful form with exaggerated cane grip. CONDITION: Barrel has been lacquered but retains a brown patina. Modern lock functions perfectly. Brass retains a mustard patina. Stock shows some wear and scattered marks from use. PROVENENCE: Previously sold as lot 3413 in James D. Julia on March 16, 2014. Previously in the collections of John Laidacker and Dr. Douglas Sirkin.
