Produced in the mid 19th century by Henry Deringer, with his "DERINGER / PHILADEL A" markings on barrel and lock. The 3 - 1/2" lightning-patterned browned barrel also features a pair of German silver bands over the breech with "P" proof and a German silver front sight. Standard foliate engraved back action percussion lock. Classic bird's head form checkered walnut stock with engraved German silver mounts, including a cap box butt. Complete with a brass-tipped ramrod. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel browning has started drifting to patina with some patterning still visible. Other iron components have faded to gray patina. Stock is very good with scattered marks and a small split between the trigger guard finial and nose cap. Strong bore shows abrasion from use of period black powder. Crisp mechanics.
