This professionally engraved map powder horn measures about 11" across the bow. The spout section fealties a vase-and-ring turning. The main body is engraved with an extensive map from Canada down to Albany and New York City. The center is engraved with a detailed British crest and "JUNE 29 1760" is engraved along the bottom, just above the decorative border. Other designs include a compass rose, an Indian, and a frontiersman. CONDITION: Pleasing dark mustard patina, some minor chipping to spout rings and two hairline cracks stemming from spout mouth downward. Original wood plug. Some losses at base, just above wood plug and a separation crack from base right after "JUNE 29". An attractive French and Indian War map horn.
