This original factory style case is constructed of nicely finished mahogany with standard partitions fitted for a Model 1855 Colt side hammer revolver. Lining is crushed red velvet. No key present. CONDITION: Good. Case has expected impressions and scratches, as well as an area of adhesive residue on the lid from an old label. Case lid has a slight bow and will not shut completely with some mild separation on the left apron. Lining retains a pleasant red hue with expected fading. Some staining and wear from contact with the gun and accessories is present although would be covered when the case is properly filled. A great period accessory seldom found loose that would make a wonderful addition to a fine Model 1855 Colt.
