A) FOREHAND ARMS COMPANY. Circa late 19th century. 23.4 x 17" black and white print of the manufacturing plants. Company was formed in 1871 by Sullivan Forehand and Henry C. Wadsworth after the death of their father-in-law, Ethan Allen of the Ethan Allen & Company, and was acquired in 1902 by Hopkins & Allen, a firearms company based in Connecticut. They were a major player in small pocket revolvers offered at a fair price and were quite successful. CONDITION: The image is a bit toned but sharp with only minor wear. Framed in contemporary frame. B) H.A. WELDY & CO. TAMAQUA PA. GUN POWDER WORKS LITHO. The Weldy Dynamite Co. of Pennsylvania was incorporated from the powder mills and then sold to the Du Pont company. Du Pont had a controlling interest in Weldy's black powder mills for many years. The company was dissolved on July 1, 1904, and the plant was abandoned in 1906. The poster measures 23 x 17 " and framed to 29" x 20. The black and white image consists of several views of the plant. CONDITION: There is a light center fold and some age toning but quite sharp. C) LAFLIN & RAND ORANGE SPORTING POWDER LITHO. Measures 23 3/4 x 17 3/4. Printed in brown sepia tone on light cardboard. CONDITION: Bottom of posted was lightly trimmed cutting all the printers information in half. There is some chipping on edge and poster has darkened. Not framed.
