Lot consists of 2 Maestranza de Manila Type 2 .38 caliber revolver holsters. Although the holsters are devoid of maker markings, the stylized "US" and construction are traced to the Maestranza de Manila in the Philippines, according to author Edward Scott Meadows. They are both constructed of russet leather dating them to post 1902. (A) Right handed version with stamped "US" oval on flap. Complete with all components and this example features tight stitching and rivets with supple leather. Some staining with light creases throughout. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Left handed version with stamped "US" oval on flap. Complete with all components and this example features tight stitching and rivets with supple leather. Some staining with light creases throughout and areas of crazing. There are a few scuffs throughout its construction CONDITION: Good.
