Interesting lot of items pertaining to the OSS. There are 3 knives, 2 stilettos and 1 smatchet. The first stiletto features a brass grip with 2nd pattern style scabbard with "wings" underside of guard is marked with broad arrow and "B2". The second stiletto features a blackened grip and is marked "ENGLAND" and broad arrow "B2". The small "England" stamped on the guard is a customs requirement for its eventual importation into the US. The smatchet is accompanied by a letter that states this example is from the collection of Robert Buerlein and was displayed in the Military Knife and Bayonet Museum in Richmond, Virginia, from 1985-2005. There are also several pieces of ephemera including silk maps, a British lifted weight igniter, language books, and other books regarding the OSS during World War II. Lastly, there is the copy of an obituary from OSS Det. 101 veteran John Sharp with written note that states at least 1 of the knives came from his estate. All pieces exhibit wear and scattered blemishes. CONDITION: Fair-very good.
