Overall length: 46 – 1/2”. Barrel length: 30 – 1/4”. Percussion double barrel shotgun with 30 – ¼” unmarked barrels. Back action locks marked “Vallee”. Checkered wrist. Prosper Vallee was the gunsmith who sold his gunshop to John Krider in the 1820s. Only two examples of his work are known to exist, the other was featured in the NRA Exceptional Arms Exhibit in the National Firearms Museum. Missing 6” sliver on upper left forearm. No pitting. Good condition (old, dry surface).
