Made by Richardson & Overman in Philadelphia. The lock has the Gallagher patent legend. Features a round barrel, pinched front sight, folding rear sight, blue barrel, case color frame, saddle ring and bar, walnut stock with patch box. This model of carbine was issued to at least eight cavalry units during the war. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is a smooth brown patina. Legends are legible. Stock is solid but refinished at one time but still has some scattered small dings and a bit shy to metal at lock and patch box. Action works fine. Bore is defined but has some abrasions.
