Overall length: 45 – ½”. Barrel length: 38 – ¾”. Half stock Kentucky-type curly maple rifle with half octagon half round .68 caliber barrel marked in script “Jacob Koons Philada.”. Brass engraved trigger guard and buttplate. Percussion lock engraved by Koons after conversion from flint. Two barrel wedges. Examples of Kuntz rifles are on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Winterthur. Beautifully engraved curly maple stock with original orange-ish finish. Rare form for Kuntz. Extremely fine engraving on barrel, lock, and brass mountings. Rare tip-out barrel. Fine condition.
