A well-built Kentucky rifle in the early Northampton County, Pennsylvania, style. The rifled octagon barrel is inscribed "Wm. R. Mende" on the top flat. Germanic lock. Brass Lehigh furniture and brass wire inlay. Engraved silver star above cheekpiece and silver oval-shaped wrist escutcheon inscribed "Wm. W". Relief carved classic Lehigh form tiger maple stock. Wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Show light scattered marks from use and little or no use. Action functions properly, as does set trigger. A well-built and accurate copy of a Lehigh rifle.
