The second model was manufactured between 1878 and 1882. It still had the scoop fluted cylinder and the open top design. Two line address and patent dates on the left side of the barrel, "HOPKIN & ALLEN MFG CO NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A. PAT. JAN. 24 / APR. 21. DEC. 15. 74 AUG. 3. 75 JULY 7. 76 APR. 17. 77 PATS MAR. 6. 77". Caliber designation on the left side of the frame, "CALIBRE / WINCHESTER / 1873". On the right side of the frame is the Merwin address, "MERWIN, HULBERT & CO. N.Y. / POCKET ARMY". It has an integrated half moon front sight and a V notch rear sight. Niter blue trigger. Case color trigger guard and hammer. Two piece checkered hard rubber grips. CONDITION: This gun retains the vast majority of the original factory applied nickel finish. There is some edge wear and muzzle wear. The case color is present in the protected areas. The checkering on the grips is sharp and crisp. The bore has some frosting in the lands and grooves. The action indexes fine and locks up tight.
