Circa 1905-1908 per Westley Richards's website. Barrels were originally dovetail lumped but mono-blocked at some point during their life. Brass bead front and mid beads on a tapered concave rib with "Westley Richards & Co England" engraved towards chambers. Dressed with scrollwork at breeches, and rear of rib is engraved with a triangle of scroll, with bloc highlighted by gilt strip with scroll en suite. Doll's head rib extension with a shell motif and floral scrollwork. Barrel flats with British nitro proofs for a choked 12 gauge with 1 - 1/8 oz of shot. Nicely figured splinter forearm with a Deely latch release is checkered in point pattern and engraved on exterior iron with geometrics and scroll. Interior iron unnumbered. Droplock action of the earlier iteration with bottom plate completely detachable. Plate numbered to gun on interior, and further numbered on plunger release. Drop locks do not match the patent use number on the water table, but may be a result of superimposed numbers: 1192 is on the water table, 1129 on locks. Water tables with serial number and second set of patent numbers. Scalloped action body is engraved with English scrollwork, with dressed borders and signed "Westley Richards & Co" at "bars". Westley Richard's hinged lever and Patent trigger with selector abutting bow on right side. Flat bottom trigger guard engraved en suite. Automatic safety with "SAFE" engraved in gold (?, unclear, perhaps brass) ahead of slide. Richly streaked walnut stock with English straight grip and point pattern checkering about the wrist. Leather wrapped recoil pad with covered screws. CONDITION: Very good as conserved. Barrels with virtually all of a high quality refinish, with silvering visible at bloc, alongside rib, and at sharpest edges. Visible fine oxidation visible throughout metal. Replacement stocks with scattered handling marks and impressions, with a couple abraded heads on right side of checkering and a miniscule chip on right side of trigger guard. Bores are very good, smooth, with some evidence of firing residue. Mechanically very good, ejectors are slightly out of time, right fires first, and lever does not quite come back to center when action is closed. Some superficial scrapes to pad, but still pliable. Barrels are tight on face, right breech and chamber faces with some discoloration.
