The factory letter states this gun was mistakenly listed as a Grade 2 when in actuality, it is a Grade 3. The only other information is that it was shipped with 30" barrels. 12 gauge with barrel steel not listed nor is shipping date, although they estimate 1895. This gun features finely patterned Damascus barrels, full matted rib with Hunter Arms Fulton NY barrel legend and manual extractor. Action is a sidelock, case color, finely engraved vignette of wooded bird scene on right side with like scene on left. Some fine engraving surrounds these vignettes as well as on barrel release and trigger guard. Also features double triggers. The walnut stock of at least 2x wood with a checkered pistol grip, a horn grip cap, a more recent solid red recoil pad and a similarly checkered splinter fore end with gutta perch dog head inset. CONDITION: Fine. Beautiful engraving with minimum of 20-30% case color remains. The barrels show a magnificent pattern. Stock is excellent with piano finish and sharp checkering. Lock up is tight. Mechanically sound. Bores are bright.
