Cased Westley Richards bolt action rifle in .30-06 with a 24” barrel. Length of pull is 13 - 3/4" to an orange rubber recoil pad. The rifle sports a Prince of Wales stock with a metal grip cap and single stage trigger with slight take-up on a single square bridge Mauser action, “SAFE UP” engraved on the flag safety, flag safety operates with scope, initialed silver shield on the toe line, raised hooded front sight with a blade and a folding moon sight, express island rear sight with two folding (150 and 250 yards) leaves, Zeiss Terra 3X 4-12x42 scope with a duplex reticle, horn forend tip, beaded pancake cheek piece for a right-handed shooter, lever floorplate release, and a checkered wrist and forend. A sling swivel stud on the barrel and on the toe line, Serial number, maker’s name, and caliber marked on the receiver ring. The barrel reads “WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co LONDON”. Housed in a brass cornered green canvas case with green baize, maker’s label, maker’s cleaning cloth, mop, jag, brass brush, key and a spare front sight. The rifle will only fit the case when the barreled action is separated from the stock. The action, floor plate, trigger guard, and the scope rings are engraved with scroll. One round stippled panel on the bolt. Front sight hood and the rear island sight are also engraved. Blued barreled action and furniture. Walnut stock with some figure and fiddleback. Circa 1952 rifle with Birmingham proofs. CONDITION: The rifle remains in excellent original condition. The stock and checkering show evidence of light field use. Excellent chamber and bore with sharp and crisp lands. The newer case by the maker is in as new condition. A classic English made rifle on the Mauser action in a classic North American caliber.
