A) This rare carbine is discussed in detail on pages 60 and 102 in Robert Renneberg's book "THE WINCHESTER MODEL 94" Volume. 1. He refers to this variation as the Model 94/95. It features a 20" barrel but has a front magazine retainer exactly like that of a Model 92 .25 or .32 carbine. The barrel is a tapered light weight with a front sight base and a dovetailed blade. All other features are standard carbine with curved metal carbine butt plate, rear barrel band, saddle ring and stud with a folding leaf rear sight and walnut stocks. This carbine was manufactured in 1928. Renneberg estimates that fewer than thirty of these were manufactured and he shows pictures of a couple different examples. Both sides of the walnut stock are stamped QSW. The Winchester barrel stamp is listed as a type 6 that is common from serial number 1,080, xxx through 1,250,xxx. CONDITION: Very good. The frame is basically a smooth patina with strong blue on loading gate. The barrel and tube retain a blue hue that is blending with smooth patina. The Winchester barrel legends are crisp. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal with nominal handling marks. Action functions and the bore is well defined but lightly frosted. Comes with a period leather scabbard. B) The single action in this lot apparently belonged to the same gentleman as the Winchester so is included. It is about a 3/4" scale Brevet copy of a black powder frame Single Action Army. The barrel has a Colt Hartford legend, while left side of frame is stamped .38 caliber. It is finished in nickel and sports a lanyard ring. With gun disassembled , there is a 53 stamped under ejector housing. Inside right grip frame is stamped 53 which is also stamped on back of cylinder with an unusual proof mark on face. The grips are some sort of bone. CONDITION: Excellent. Retains at least 95% original nickel with scattered handling marks and sharp legends. Grips are a bit shy with repair to right front toe. Action indexes correctly. Bore is well defined with some abrasion. Comes with an unmarked post 1920 holster and cartridge belt. Very interesting little gun. From the Robert C. Renneberg Collection
