(A) SPECIAL ORDER DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

According to included factory research, this deluxe rifle shipped March 26, 1880. It sports a an octagon barrel with dovetailed German silver blade front sight, "1876" marked ladder rear sight, and half length button magazine. Case hardened frame with thumb print sliding dust cover. Deluxe checkered walnut forend retained by a steel nose cap. Matching checkered walnut stock pistol grip stock with ebony inlaid grip and steel shotgun butt plate. Lower tang marked with "872" assembly number, as well as "XX" wood grade and "S" shotgun butt designation. A corresponding "872" stamped in the stock channel. Factory research confirms all options. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel blue has faded and dulled to a rich, dark patina with spots of loss. Frame retains bright flashes of case color in protected areas, the balance a patterned gray patina. Loading gates retains nearly all of its fading nitre blue. Stocks are very good with impressions and scuffs. Strong, bright bore with mild imperfections. Fine mechanics.
