Dates to 1912. It is estimated that less than 300 Model 1885s were made in this caliber. This example sports a number 3 octagon barrel with a dovetailed bead front sight, a Winchester semi-buckhorn sporting rear sight as well as a tang sight. Finish is blue. Walnut stock has a rifle butt plate and a matching forearm with ebony insert. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrel and frame retain at least 90% plus finish with dispersed light patina, some high edge wear and nominal handling marks. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal, exhibiting some impressions with one small plugged hole on forearm. Top Winchester barrel legends are crisp. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright. This is one of the finest all blue 50 Express rifles extant.
