Fabulous Kornbrath engraved 16 bore Winchester Model 21 side by side game gun with 26" "Winchester Proof Steel" barrels. The gun is choked full and full and marked the same on the barrels. Length of pull of 14 3/8” to a checkered butt. English stock, double triggers, auto-safety, hold open top lever, extractor, slightly raised matted rib, single front bead, beavertail forend, and gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the safety catch. Unique to Model 21 in American doubles, the barrels are a combination of dovetail and chopper lump styles. Serial numbers match on the action, barrels, forend iron and, forend wood. Circa 1935 gun with unaltered 2 - 5/8” chambers. Engraved and signed, inside of the forend iron, by Rudolph Kornbrath. Embellished with medium scroll, low relief flower bouquets, and chiseled fences. Blued action and furniture. Well figure walnut stock and checkered grip, forend, and panels behind the action. With a russet brown leather tabbed case, with two peace celaning rod, selvyt cloth, square oil bottle, reproudvction WInchester Model 21 paperwork, CSMC pin, and wallet with mop, jag, and brush. CONDITION: In excellent as found condition. The gun remains in original condition except for a replacement screw on the bottom strap. Evidence of light oxidation in isolated areas: barrels and on and around the triggers. Excellent bores and bluing on barrels other than some minor wear on barrels which is commensurate with age and use. No wear on the bluing on the action. The checkering remains in excellent condition. Stock in excellent condition as well with evidence of minor use and some later applied varnish. The right barrel is slightly off face. Top lever remains right of center. Case good as relined, and with some impressions and scuffs.
