It was to weigh 6 lbs 8 oz, received in warehouse on September 11th, 1946, shipped September 26th, 1946, and shipped to J.C. GeHee. There is a further letter from Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company regarding the 28 gauge barrels, assuring the recipient that they were part of of U.S. Repeating Arms Company stock when CSMC purchased their inventory, and were fitted and blued per Winchester spec. Winchester Model 21 De Luxe Skeet Grade 28 ga ejector gun with “Winchester Proof Steel” 26” barrels. The gun is choked extra full in both barrels. The barrels are marked “WS-1” and “WS-2” for chokes. Length of pull of 14 - 9/16” to a black leather covered pad. English stock, mechanical single selective trigger, auto-safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the safety catch, “R” and “L” for barrel selection engraved by the trigger, hold open top lever, matted concave rib, white front and mid beads, checkered wrist, checkered beavertail forend and an initialed gold oval on the toe line. The barrels are a combination of dovetail and chopper lump styles. Serial numbers match on the action, barrels, forend iron, and forend iron wood. Underside of action marked “De LUXE SKEET” ahead of the trigger guard. Circa 1940 gun with 2 - 3/4” chambers. Unengraved blued action and furniture. Walnut stock, with a wooden extension, and forend show good figure. In a leather tabbed case with maroon lining and a leather Model 21 trade label i nlid, compartmentalized for both sets of barrels, slightly out of spec, and slotted for snpcaps and cleaning accessories. CONDITION: Good overall. Bluing on barrels remains very good with evidence of oxidation where the forend covers the barrels. The bluing on action at 90% with minor evidence of oxidation. Bores rate very good. Forend iron shows evidence of oxidation. The checkering remains in excellent condition while stock and forend show scratches consistent with field use. The leather is worn in a couple of places, showing the red pad underneath. The gun would do well with a thorough strip, clean, and oil. Top lever left of center, barrels are on face, and ejectors are in time. Barrel set "B" reblued, somewhat softened, with some heavy corrosion in both bores approximately 4" back from the breech, and numerous scuffs and dings, some lifted. Case with scartches and scuffs commensurate, but solid and whole.
