This rare musket was built in 1914. The short NRA muskets were built to the specifications of the National Rifle Association for use in "any military arm" matches. Special features include the N.R.A. legend on left side of frame. The front sight is a Model 1901 Krag style. The front barrel band has in integral bayonet lug. The butt plate is flat high polish blue steel. The rear sight is also a Model 1901 Krag style. Features one rear barrel band, three swivels, finger groove lower front stock and handguard. Winchester legends on left side of frame with 30 Govt 06 stamped on bridge. CONDITION: Fine. The receiver, lever and magazine retain about 30% bright blue with balance flaked to patina. Bolt retains majority of bright blue. Even the butt plate retains majority of bright blue. Legends are sharp. Barrel retains virtually all its blue with some minor handling marks. Blue has flaked on bands. Stocks are superb. Rifle appears to have seen little use, simply the typical flaking typical of Winchesters of this era. Mechanically crisp. Bore is sharp. A very sharp rifle simply unknown to most collectors as they seldom appear on the market.
