Manufactured in 1916. This caliber was considered a special order and it is estimated that only 331 were ever produced. This rifle features a round barrel, full length magazine tube, dovetailed replacement front sight blade, a flat top sporting rear along with a Lyman tang sight, walnut stock with Winchester black butt plate, and matching forearm. CONDITION: Fine. Frame shows about 50% blue on left side with about 10% on right. Bolt and loading gate retain generous blue. Barrel and tube are about 85% blending with some patina, mostly near breech. Winchester barrel legends are sharp. Stocks are beautifully fitted and finished replacements. Mechanically functional. Bore is bright. Sharp and rare rifle.
