Circa 1895. According to a survey of Colt records, 126 original Bisley Target revolver were produced chambered in .44 S&W. This Bisley is fitted with a later "(BISLEY MODEL) RUSSIAN AND / S&W SPECIAL 44" marked barrel. Pinned target blade front sight and drift adjustable rear. Blued flat top frame with transverse pin. Cylinder is a later replacement as is marked with a pony on the reverse. Left side has been remarked with 2-line address and encircled rampant Colt trademark. Grips are 2-piece checkered hard rubber with rampant Colt logos. Matching serial numbers present on the inside. Serial numbers appear refreshed. CONDITION: Very good as restored. Barrel and cylinder retain nearly all of what appears to be factory blue with high edge silvering scattered marks, and a turn line. Balance of the gun retains the vast majority of its reapplied blue. Grips are very good. Very good, bright and well defined bore. Fine mechanics.
