Manufactured in 1892. Finished in polished blue with nitre blue screws. Barrel is fitted with a pinned target front sight and marked with 1-line Hartford address. Flat top frame with adjustable u-notch rear sight. Frame fitted with a traverse pin as is seen on later smokeless frames, correct for target guns beginning in 1892. Frame is marked with 2-line patent dates and encircled rampant Colt. Fitted with a checkered trigger. Cylinder appears to a replacement with reapplied blue and small British crown "V" and crown "P" proofs. 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips with rampant Colts. Inside of right grip is inscribed "HM DERMOTT/ of SHERIDAN / WYOMING / USA" and "BORN. 1840 / DIED. 1881 / RIP". Inside of left grip reads "A GOOD / FRIEND / BUT / A BAD / ENEMY". CONDITION: Very fine. Approximately 75% original blue with thinning and wear, especially on the grip straps and high areas. Cylinder retains nearly all of its reapplied blue. Trigger and screws display significant portions of fading nitre blue. Grips have very good definition with some superficial handling marks. Very good, well defined bore. Fine mechanics.
