Factory letter states this this gun in the appropriate configuration was shipped on April 1, 1902 to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, returned on April 5th, and reshipped on April 11 to the Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis. Letter does not list stocks. The bone stocks are inscribed "WRA Co" and were later made and fitted. The balance of gun is just as it left the factory with nickel finish, blued screws, one line Colt barrel legend, caliber stamp on left side, two line patent legend on left side of frame with circled pony. CONDTION: Excellent. Overall retains at least 95% original showing scattered age freckling, cylinder drag line, face burn and some high edge wear. All legends are sharp. Grips look nice but not of the correct period. Mechanically sound. Bore is well defined.
