Cody research indicates that this gun was subject to a repair order as a Skeet Grade circa October 1939; the receive date is blank, but the shotgun shipped from the warehouse on November 2nd, 1939. “Winchester Proof Steel” 28” barrels. The gun is choked skeet and improved cylinder and marked “IMP-CYL” and “MOD” on the barrels. Length of pull of 13 7/8” to a white line Winchester recoil pad. Prince of Wales stock with a metal grip cap, mechanical single selective gold-plated trigger, non-auto safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the safety catch, “R” and “L” for barrel selection engraved by the trigger, hold open top lever, matted concave rib, front and mid beads, vacant gold oval, checkered beavertail forend, wrist checkered in Fleur-de-lis and ribbon pattern, and an ebony forend tip insert. Jeweled standing face, breech face, ejectors, water table, barrel flats, lump, and forend iron. The barrels are a combination of dovetail and chopper lump styles. Serial numbers match on the action, barrels, forend iron and, forend wood. Chambers just shy of 2 - 3/4”, marked 2 - 3/4” on the barrels. Blued sculpted action and furniture. Walnut stock with good figure. CONDITION: In excellent overall condition. Excellent bluing on barrels and action with minor wear commensurate with age. Bores rate excellent as well. The checkering remains in excellent condition while the stock with some scratches is in very good condition. Top lever remains right of center, barrels on face, and ejectors are in time.
