Spectacular five-gun set of small bore Francotte sideplated ejector game guns with nominal 28” chopper lump barrels. Engraved skeleton butt plate and checkered wood. All guns in this set sport an English stock, mechanical single trigger on a sideplated boxlock action with sideclips, non-auto safety, filed slightly raised narrow concave rib with a small brass front bead, gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of a small button style safety catch, serial number engraved on the bottom strap, drop points, splinter forend, and an Anson push button forend release. All the guns are individually housed in a maroon metal cornered canvas case with maker’s label and lined with maroon baize. Circa 1980 guns with Belgian proof marks. All the guns are proofed with 2 3/4" chambers except the .410, which has 3” chambers. The barrels are marked “AUG FRANCOTTE BREVETE A LIEGE” and “MADE IN BELGIUM FOR BINGHAM LTD ATLANTA GEORGIA USA”. The condition and bores makes this set of guns one of a kind. These would be a star attraction in any collection of a small bore or Francotte aficionado. (A) The .410 bore gun top rib bears “I” in gold inlay. The gun is engraved and signed by R. Collinet with small scroll and relief engraved game scene vignettes in gold inlay. Gold inlaid flushing bobwhite quail on both sides. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. Exhibition grade walnut stock. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. Exhibition grade walnut stock. The gun is engraved and signed by M. Smets with small scroll and relief engraved game scene vignettes in gold inlay. Three gold inlaid ring-necked pheasants on both sides. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. Well figured walnut stock. The gun is engraved and signed by Morai .J. with small scroll and relief engraved game scene vignettes in gold inlay. Four landing ducks on the right and three flushing ruffed grouse left side. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. Exhibition grade walnut stock. Weight: 6 lbs flat; LOP: 14 - 11/16”, cast slightly off; DAC: 1 - 7/16”; DAH: 2 - 1/4”; Bore diameter, (L) .625 (R) .622; Choke (L) .025 (R) .022; Minimum wall thickness, (L) .040 (R) .041 CONDITION: All are near new and original. Bores, bluing, and metal condition remain near new. The stock, forend, and checkering also rate near new. The gun shows evidence of very minor use. The top lever right of center, on face, and ejectors in time.
