Niedner opened his first shop in Malden, Massachussetts, in 1906 until he moved to Dowagiac, Michigan in 1920. Niedner was well known by then for his custom sporting rifles and specialized in single shots and special chamberings. Niedner manufactured rifles for the likes of Townsend Whelen, Charles Newton, Ned Roberts, and countless other famous rifleman of the era. He built this custom rifle using a small frame BSA Martini action. Round barrel, front sight band, and a two leaf folding rear sight. The rear tang sight is a patent 1907. The two piece stock features a checkered pistol grip with cap and an engraved buttplate. The matching forearm has a horn tip. The long monkey tail lever is engraved. The high polish blued frame is finely engraved. The breech is stamped "A.O. NIEDNER MALDEN MASS". CONDITION: Excellent. The frame and barrel retain nearly all their blue finish with minor handling marks. The buttplate and lever are grey patina. The trigger guard is bright blue. Mechanically sound. Bore is bright.
