Originally manufactured in 1900, this handsome Colt has been upgrade engraved by Bob Burt, as signed "Engr. by R.B. Burt" on the left side of the grip frame under the grips. Gun is finished in professionally reapplied lustrous polished blue. Barrel has an engraved band at the muzzle between a pair of golden rings, the rear 5" also engraved with a tapered panel of gold highlighted foliate scroll around the barrel address. Engraving extends onto the ejector rod housing. Cylinder is engraved on and between each flute with a pair of gold bands at the rear. Frame continues the scroll engraving with gold border and highlighting. Left side is stamped with standard 2-line patent dates and encircled rampant Colt. Backstrap is likewise engraved with a flourish of gold inlay. Grips are ivory, the right carved with a relief longhorn bull head. Gun is housed in an attractive fiddleback grain hardwood case. CONDITION: Excellent as upgraded. Nearly all of the reapplied blue is retained throughout with a few freckles. Case colors are strong on the hammer. Grips have a pleasant, mellow nicotine patina with some age lines on the base. Bore is defined with frosting and some abrasions. Fine mechanics.
