Originally manufactured in 1891, this revolver was reworked circa 1903 into a so called Artillery Model. Blued, double "P" proofed shortened barrel with blade front sight and 1-line address. Early bullseye ejector rod head. Case hardened frame with "RAC" Carr inspection, 2-line address, and "US" stamp. 1-piece walnut grips correctly marked on the right with "1903" date and boxed script "RAC" inspection cartouche. Small "RAC" touchmarks also present on the base of each grip. As is characteristic for these revolvers, numbers are mixed throughout. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains approximately 90% blue with some thinning. Cylinder finish has faded with strong blue in the flutes. Grip straps have developed a toned patina, the trigger guard and base retaining the majority of their blue. Frame colors have started to fade with defined patterning and some areas of brighter color, some spotting also present towards the top. Grips have some scattered impressions. Markings are legible. Bright, well defined bore with light frosting throughout. Fine mechanics.
