Circa 1905 per serial number. Shoe lump barrels with a brass bead front sight on a heavily sunken rib, engraved "COGSWELL & HARRISON Ltd EXTRA QUALITY. VICTOR EJECTOR 141 NEW BOND ST. 226 STRAND. LONDON & 26 AVENUE DE L'OPERA PARIS". Rib extension slotted for a Greener crossbolt, engraved with light floral scroll, breeches with stiff leaf engraving. Bottom of barrels with Arcus steel trademark, and proofs on flats for a nitro proofed choked 12 gauge at 1 - 1/8 oz of shot. Splinter forearm with reinforced Anson plunger release, checkered in point pattern about a central escutcheon, with tight English scroll on exterior iron. Interior iron with matching serial number. Sidelock action with serial number and view proofs on water table, engraved with nicely executed English rose and scroll, with cocking indicators. on each plate. Non-automatic safety with gold intaglio "SAFE" ahead of slide. Nicely colored and grained walnut stock with teardrops, point pattern checkering about the diamond cross section wrist, with sling bow screwed in at toe line, and a vanity plate that reads "ERNST Rohde Darmstadt". Housed in a leather wrapped case with Cogswell & Harrison trade label in lid, Cogswell & Harrison striker pot, pair snapcaps, sling, pair case straps, and sling bow for barrel eye. CONDITION: Very good as conserved. Barrels have been reblued over some fine pitting, with scattered handling marks, some silvering. Locks polished, with flashes of case color at recoil shield recesses. Wood very good with scattered impressions and dings. Pad appears to be a replacement, ill-fit. Case good with expected age related distress and rubs, pull lid relined. Mechanically fine, bores are very good with some carbon striations from firing towards chamber.
