Dovetail lump barrels with a narrow, smooth, concave gave rib with steel bead front sight. Left tube engraved 'Armi Famars" towards chambers, dressed with wrigglework at the breeches and with a small sprig of scroll at the rear of the rib. Underside of barrels with Italian nitro proofs for a 12 gauge with a nominal 18.4 IBD and 70mm (2 - 3/4") chambers at 1,240KG, and "XX9" date code for 1973. Splinter forearm with reinforced Anson plunger release, point pattern checkering, and scrollwork on exterior iron. Interior iron with matching serial number. Sidelocks engraved in a modified English rose-and-scroll pattern, utilizing acanthus elements instead of roses. Double triggers protected by a blued long tang trigger guard with Maretti's signature and "73" date on trigger plate. Automatic safety with intaglio "S" ahead of slide. Lightly colored walnut stock with point pattern checkering about the straight wrist, a German silver vanity plate at toe line, and checkered butt. In a leg of mutton case with FAMARS trade label in lid, lined in royal purple. CONDITION: Barrels with the vast majority of their bluing with scattered handling marks, some silvering, heavier about where the forearm contacts barrels. Stocks excellent with some scattered handling marks. Action excellent with some oil discoloration, engraving crisp. Mechanically fine, ejectors are strong and in time, bores excellent, bright. Discretely import marked for Simpson.
