Monobloc barrels fit with a low profile machine matted vent rib with steel bead front sight. Barrels are marked with typical Beretta legends, includuing designations as a 27 gauge with 2 - 3/4" (70mm) chambers, 30" barrels, a nominal 13.9 IBD, and proofing at 1260KG. CL date code for 2013, and Italian nitro proofs. Currently installed tubes are Modified over Improved Cylinder. Nicely marbled walnut forearm with Schnabel tip, a Deely latch release, and a heraldic gold washed shield with "PB" monogram. Exterior iron with engraving of florals and scrollwork. Sideplated boxlock action is engraved with a scene of snipe in a meadow on the left "sideplate" and a covey of quail mid-flight on the right. Bottom with a pair of retrievers amongst cattails, ready to act. Engraving is supported by densely spaced scrollwork with acanthus and floral elements, and signed abutting the trigger guard "Bottega C. Giovanelli" with an engravers signature that is difficult to read. Non-automatic safety with selector built into the slide, single mechanical trigger. Lightly colored stock with lovely marbling, pistol grip, and two panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist. With a nicely chosen checkered walnut extension. With Beretta case with seven additional chokes, oil bottle, choke tool, and factory paperwork. With cardboard slip. CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with some very minor handling marks, likely shop wear; most offensive some silvering to right side of rib. Mechanically fine, ejectors are strong and in time, bores bright with some frosting ahead of chambers, possibly from proof. Discretely import marked by Simpson. A great upland option.
