Manufactured in 1909. This early commercial .45 auto features the pre-1914 Colt high polish blue finish with fire blue smalls including trigger and screws, a case color round hammer, a rounded U notch rear sight, double diamond checkered walnut grips and a correct high polish blue magazine. Left side of slide bears the Colt patent legends. Right side of slide has the "Automatic .45" legend. CONDITION: Fine. Both of grip straps have faded to gun metal grey. Balance of frame retains 85% bright Colt factory blue with scattered handling marks. The slide retains at least 60% bright blue with more of the fading on left side. All legends are crisp. Grips are excellent. Mechanically sound. Bore is bold with light frosting.
