Dates to 1942. This early war Colt has the WB inspector stamp on left side of frame for Waldemar Broberg. Broberg transitioned into Robert Sears position on November of 1941 through June of 1942. Standard features include the parkerized finish with distinctive dark tempered tone on forward 1 - 1/2" of slide , beveled U notch rear sight, short checkered trigger, short checkered spur trigger, checkered slide stop and safety along with the checkered arched main spring housing. Barrel is blue. The magazine is stamped L on lip for M.S. Little. Left side of slide has the Colt patent legends. Right side of frame has the US Army legends. There are proof P stamps on slide an frame. The ordnance wheel crossed cannons is stamped on left side of frame. It is very rare to find any WB inspected Colt with this wheel stamp. The slide has matching number. Barrel is G inspected and stamped "Colt .45 Auto". The brown plastic grips have reinforcing cross. CONDITION: Excellent. Overall, a clean 90% plus arsenal finish with minor handling marks, some age freckling on forward right slide and the grips straps are turning. There is no raw steel visible on the wheel stamp. All legends are sharp. Mechanically sound. Bore is bright.
