Wide, solid, file cut matte rib with a brass bead front sight. Barrels with script "Famars" and "-ITALY-" on left sde. Under forearm are Italian proofs for a 70mm (2 - 3/4") chambered 12 gauge with a nominal 18.6 IBD proofed at 1350 KG; BN date code for 2000. Nicely streaked walnut forearm with point pattern checkering and recessed finger grooves. Reinforced Anson release with floral scrollwork and a stippled background, with a central escutcheon en suite. Exterior iron engraved with widely cut scrollwork on a stippled ground. Sidelock action with matching A&S proof and discrete Simpson import mark. Sidelocks engraved with well cut widely spaced scroll with a trio of ringnecks over a swamp on left, a ringneck descending into a marsh on the bottom, and three more ringnecks mid flight on the right, even the lever has a small portrait of a duck. Bottom of action with "PEGASUS / FAMARS" in ribbons on trigger plate. Engraving signed by Venzi abutting trigger guard. Trigger guard engraved en suite with a rolled right edge protecting a single mechanical trigger. Automatic safety with "S" engraved ahead of slide. Nicely streaked reddish walnut stock with teardrops, a Prince of Wales grip checkered in a point-and-wave pattern about the wrist, and an English-style leather wrapped recoil pad with covered screws. Forest green lined FAMARS branded case with composite pebble grain exterior containing accessories comprising two spare sets of strikers and mainsprings, FAMARS manual, and Italian proof certificate. CONDITION: Barrels with the vast majority of the original factory bluing with handling marks throughout, some silvering, and associated superficial marks. Silvering heavier to sharp edges and where forearm makes contact. Proofs with distension from application of stamp. Locks excellent with some spotting to the engraving and coin finish, engraving still crisp. Stock with some minor spotting, primarily to comb, and some grain checks to top tang. Mechanically fine, excepting ejectors which inconsistently fire and need attention, bores with some frosting. Case has interior foam lid detached and some peeling to FAMARS portfolio.
