Both sets of chain Damascus barrels with dovetail lumps and small brass bead front sights on narrowing solid matte ribs. Ribs numbered 1 and 2 in gold with an open panel engraved with Greener's information. Rib extension slotted for a Scott's crossbolt and engraved patent Trebel WedgeFast. Breeches and muzzle with larger than normal bands of floral engraving. Underside of tubes with Birmingham nitro proofs and individually matching serial numbers. Barrel flats with more modern British nitro proofs for a 2 - 1/2" 12 Gauge at 1 1/8 oz of shot at 3 tons per square inch. Barrel set B with further notation of nominal .740 IBD in left barrel and .729 in right; A has no such notation. Svelte splinter with reinforced Anson plunger style releases and pattern point checkering about the body. Engraved on exterior iron with small format scrollwork and florals. Interior with matching numbers and engraved Gothic "1" and "2" respectively. Scalloped boxlock actions with Gothic "1" and "2" on action flats with Birmingham proofs, Greener patent number, and Greener Elephant logo. Actions engraved with miniscule modified rose and scroll including game scenes of a pointer alerting, another vignette of a partridge on left side. Right with a second dog in hot pursuit of a low flying pheasant with another vignette of a pair of mallards rising out of a swamp. Underside with 2 pheasants on branches. Double triggers with Greener side safeties. Beaded fences engraved en suite. Top break lever en suite with a golden crown. Royal style diamond cross section straight grips checkered in a point pattern about the wrist and fit with side panels with ebony drop points. Nicely streaked walnut and horn buttplates and silver unengraved ovals at toe line. Heavily pitched in towards the left side. With 21245 and 21244 ahead of ovals (probably control codes for stocks as they are also sequential). House in a brass tabbed leather wrapped case embossed "C.S" in lid. Lined in a newer navy blue baize with Greener trade label in lid and containing accessories comprising two part cleaning rod, oil bottle, mop, jag, cloths, and 4 snap caps. There is also a lid from a box of Greener Sporting Life cartridges. CONDITION: Both guns in a fabulous state of preservation. Both sets of barrels with a good quality rebrown with Damascus pattern still visible, some scattered handling marks, and a little silvering where forearms contact barrels. Forearms very good, with some scattered handling marks and impressions which have left some abraded heads and areas of dryness but solid and whole. Actions excellent, slightly polished with engraving very slightly softened. Stocks excellent, appear to be revarnished with scattered handling marks and some impressions heavier on gun (A/1). Bores very good, (A/1) with some heavy orange peel in right barrel and some minor frosting throughout. (B/2) also has some minor orange peel in left tube. Case good with rubs and scuffs throughout, some separation of baize at back hinge but appears stable.
