Manufactured 1947-1959 per Holland & Holland's serial number document. Chopper lump barrels with a blued steel bead front sight on a smooth, concave, tapering solid rib. Engraved "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and "98. NEW BOND STREET, LONDON" on tubes, with "Royal""" in the rib, towards the chambers. Engraved with floral scroll at rear of the rib and with stiff leaves over breeches. Underside of rib engraved "MADE IN ENGLAND" ahead of forearm loop, with matching "33912" tube numbers and Holland & Holland self-opening mechanism. Barrel flats with British nitro proofs for a choked 12 gauge with 2 - 3/4" chambers at 1 - 1/8 oz of shot. Splinter forearm with a reinforced Anson style plunger release with point pattern checkering about a central escutcheon, with finely cut acanthus scrollwork on exterior iron. Interior iron with matching serial number. Case colored hand detachable H&H pattern sidelocks with Royal pattern acanthus scrollwork, gold line cocking indicators, and engraved "Holland / & / Holland" in a central riband. Underside also engraved "ROYAL MODEL" and "HOLLAND'S SINGLE PATENT TRIGGER". Automatic safety with "SAFE" in gold ahead of slide, single trigger bladed for a right handed shooter and protected by a right hand rolled trigger guard with engraving en suite. Gorgeously colored walnut stock with a Prince of Wales pistol grip with Royal diamond cross section, a golden oval at toe line engraved "S.W", and an orange rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Barrels with virtually all of their bluing with some scattered handling marks and rubs, with thinning to silver at muzzles. Action with approximately half of the case coloring, with lacquering still visible in some areas, and most losses confined to the carry area. Stocks are excellent with some scattered handling marks and impressions, somewhat heavier on butt, but free of cracks or chips. Mechanically fine, ejectors are a little soft but in time, bores excellent with some very moderate frosting.
