According to the Colt Factory archive letter, this gun was shipped with a 7 - 1/2" barrel. The finish was blue and the grips were rubber. It was shipped to J. F. Schmelzer & Sons Arms Company in Kansas City, Missouri on February 8, 1928. In a shipment of one gun. Single line address on top of the barrel, "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Caliber designation on the left side of the barrel, "COLT 45". Two line patent dates and the Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the frame, backstrap and the trigger guard. CONDITION: This gun retains the vast majority of the factory applied blue finish. There is some slight blue loss on the barrel and the front and rear grip straps are thinning. There is a turn line on the cylinder. Vibrant case color on the frame and hammer. The checkering on the grips is sharp and crisp. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves.
