Per the included factory letter this fine rifle shipped out August 20, 1895. The blued round barrel is rollmarked with standard 2-line address and "45-70" caliber designation. Dovetailed German silver blade front sight and ladder rear. Case hardened solid frame. Plain walnut stocks with case hardened nose cap and crescent rifle butt plate. Factory letter confirms configuration. CONDITION: Excellent for its age. Barrel and magazine tube display over 95% original blue with some scattered marks. Case colors are vibrant, especially on the right side of the frame. A few cleaned spots present on the left side. The vast majority of the nitre blue is displayed on the loading gate. Stocks show some light handling marks. Nose cap colors are strong. Butt plate has largely faded to patterning. Very good, well defined bore. Fine mechanics. A wonderful 1886.
