Essentially a WWII German MG-42, the Yugoslavian M53 was produced by Zastava on German tooling and served the as the nation's squad automatic weapon into the 1990s. This kit was professionally rebuilt as a semi-automatic rifle by Wise Lite of Boyd, Texas using a combination or original surplus and new made American components. Features include full matte finish, iconic muzzle booster, folding blade front sight, 2000 meter rear sight, Yugoslavian crest marked top cover, perforated barrel shroud, folding bipod, pistol grip with serrated composition grips, and trench art decorated stock. Stock has a carved monogram and "N.SAD", possibly referring to the city of Novi Sad. 2 anti-aircraft tripods (1 with mounting head), 2 ammo cans, and belt are included. CONDITION: Good. Nearly all of the matte finish is retained throughout with some high edge wear and areas of oxidation. Stock and grips show wear, nicks, and chips. Well defined, heavily frosted bore. Good mechanics.
