Lot consists of two 1877 DA revolvers manufactured in 1893 and 1891. Both are finished in full nickel with half moon front sights, roll stamped caliber markings, and checkered hard rubber bird's head grips with rampant Colt logos. Guns are housed in an English style oak case with spent .38 Special casings and a selection of vintage gaming counters. PROVENANCE: EX Barry Kolbert Collection, Red Lodge, Montana. CONDITION: Gun (A) rates excellent for its age. Approximately 95% plating with clouding throughout as well some areas of flaking at the muzzle, right rear of frame, and a large loss on the back strap. Significant portions of original nitre blue retained on the hammer top and trigger. Grips are very good with some high edge wear. Well defined, bright bore. Fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed on frame, grip straps, and cylinder. Gun (B) is also excellent for its age. Approximately 90% nickel with bubbling and flaking. Grips are good showing wear. Bright bore with light cleaned oxidation spotting throughout. Fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed on frame, grip straps, and cylinder. Case is very good as reoiled.
