Durs opened his business in London in 1772 becoming gunmaker to His Majesty King George IV in 1820. This lovely pair of large bore single shot pistols feature a large full octagon smooth bore barrel with browned twist finish, fire blue high polish belt sash, swivel metal loading rods, lightly engraved frames and trigger guards, metal pommels with traps and finely checkered walnut handles. The Egg legend is stamped at top of barrel. Both have safeties as well as fish head hammers . Comes with period fitted case, a Dixon flash, single round bullet mold, two ebony turn screws with key. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains a rich brown finish. Frame shows flashes of case color with balance a smooth patina. All legends are sharp. Both grips sport a sliver shield escutcheon with letter D and are in excellent condition and working order. Grips are excellent with sharp checkering.
