Manufactured circa 1943, this example falls comfortable within the known range of WWII Model 12 trench guns, 940,000-1,036,000. The barrel is cylinder choked and marked at the breech with a flaming bomb proof. It is fitted with an unmarked 4-row heat shield which correctly fits nearly flush to the muzzle. Single bead front sight. The blued takedown frame is correctly stamped "U.S." with a flaming bomb under the ejection port. Standard ribbed walnut slide. Pistol grip stock is has a boxed "G.H.D." Guy Drewry inspection cartouche over ordnance crossed cannons. Checkered black plastic butt plate which fits somewhat proudly, likely a correct replacement. An olive GI pattern web sling is included. CONDITION: Very fine. Approximately 96% original blue with some mild high edge wear and scattered marks. Stocks have expected impressions and nicks throughout. Bore is bright. Fine mechanics. A nice example of a scarce WWII trench gun.
