This example falls into the middle of the second WWII US contract serial number range, 17,000-33,000. It is finished in wartime brushed military blue. Riot length barrel with left hand address, as well as "P" and flaming bomb proofs on the left side of the breech. Originally built as a riot gun, the front bead sight has been ground down and the gun fitted with an unmarked S type plum anodized bayonet lug adaptor with blued 6-row perforated heat shield. Receiver has correct "P" and flaming bomb proofs on the left side with a "U.S." above the trigger guard. Stocks are wartime plain walnut with a grooved plastic butt plate. Includes an olive woven sling. CONDITION: Fine. The vast majority of the factory blue is retained with some thinning on the magazine tube and other mild evidence of use. Stocks have some scattered light impressions and a heavy coat of added protective varnish. Bright bore with some frosting. Stiff mechanics.
