Per an included 1988 Cody factory letter, this carbine was received in the warehouse September 10, 1906 and shipped out with 1 other arm the next day. It is fitted with a blued tapered round nickel steel barrel with pinned blade front sight and ladder rear. Barrel is interestingly marked ahead of the rear sight with the "WP" proof, placement seen on a few known carbines built shortly after the proofing began around serial number 300000. Desirable factory half length button magazine. Solid frame with saddle ring. Plain walnut carbine forend retained by a barrel band. Straight grain oiled walnut stock with steel carbine butt plate. Factory letter confirms options. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains nearly all of its factory blue with some mild muzzle wear. Polished blue receiver has some expected carry wear and thinning. Loading gate nitre blue remains strong and bright. Hammer and lever case colors have largely darkened with patterning and a few bright flashes of color. Stocks remain proud to metal with some scattered field impressions. Fine, bright bore. Crisp mechanics.
