Pair of bisque busts based on the famous story by La Comtesse Sophie Ségur published in 1865, the story of two boys with different dispositions, one is pleasant, one a grumbler. This popular story inspired, sculpture, dolls, an operetta, and piano music. Characters known to collectors also as “Jean Qui Pleure et Jean Qui Rit.” These bisque busts (flake on one shoulder) have lovely detailed modeling, one laughing and one crying, of course. Signed JG in a circle on the bottom.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: Each: 6 - 1/4" T (including bases).
